.The teachers made use of varied instructional methods that will promote an effective teaching – learning process. They commonly employed learner – centered approach such as the collaborative activities, cooperative activities, and problem – solving activities that will fit into the competencies that the students must attain in their lesson. The teachers are also employing the use of the traditional method such as the lecture method but often incorporate the use of models and illustrations.
When it comes to educational services that helps the learners to accelerate with their learning progress. They have their Library which is very accessible to both the students and the teachers – where in anytime the students could use the library if they have their research work or assignment to comply. Secondly, they also have their computer room wherein the students are being taught on how to manipulate the computer including its software through this the students are becoming exposed with the trend in education nowadays which is through the use of technology

1.6 Teaching Plan of your Major
When I asked my cooperating teacher if I could see her lesson plan, she handed me a hard copy of one of her lesson plan that she prepared. As I observed and studied their lesson plan I found out that it is Semi – Detailed and focuses on the competencies that the students should attain after finishing a certain topic.
Since it is a Biology class it demands lot of activities that will aid the learning of the students like having a simple experimentation, group works, or individualize works that will stimulate the mind of the students and would help them to easily understand their topics.
2. Pedagogical Contents
2.1 Teaching Method
Based on my observation the teacher of SMANDA uses varied teaching methods in their instruction. The variation of teaching method is very important to ensure that the diversity of the learners will be address.
The selection of what teaching method to be use is very crucial as they must think of all the aspects that must be put into consideration before choosing the appropriate teaching method.
The teachers in SMANDA made use of Deductive and Inductive Approach, Inquiry Based which develops the critical thinking of the students, Discovery Approach wherein they let students discover their own learning, and lastly is the Direct Approach which pertains to the Traditional mode of instruction.
2.2 Learning Material and Innovation
SMANDA utilizes the use of technology when it comes to learning materials. They have readily available projectors, speakers and microphones that could be a really great aid for a classroom instruction. They also allows the students to use their cellular phones so that students could easily access internet whenever they have something to search.
Of course, even with the advancement of technology they do not eliminate the function of the book as it is still considered as one of the most effective learning material.
2.3 Sources of Learning and Technology
SMANDA has many sources of learning and technology it is through their facilities. The following are the facilities that SMANDA has:

-
Multimedia Room
-
Computer Laboratory
-
Biology Laboratory
-
Physics Laboratory
-
Chemistry Laboratory
-
Mosque
-
Clinic
-
Music Room
-
Gymnasium
-
Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis Court
All the above mentioned facilities are the sources of learning that the SMANDA students could easily access whenever they need it. This learning resources are of great help in order to achieve an effective teaching and learning process.
2.4 Authentic Assessment
The Authentic Assessment is also adapted by the teachers of SMANDA, through this they could assure that the students are really learning. One concrete evidence of this Authentic Assessment are the crafts or recycled materials made by the SMANDA students which were exhibited on the lobby of the Administration Building.
Another example of this are the simulation activities conducted by the student and the output of the students.

3. Teaching Plan
3.1 Curriculum
The curriculum implemented in SMANDA is based on the National Curriculum. It covers the learning of the Grades X to Grades XII which can be finished in three to two years through using Credit Semester System. It is arranged with the graduates’ competencies along with the Subject Standard Competency.
3.2 Teaching Plan Related to Your Major
Their lesson planning is only Semi – Detailed. But the lesson plan particularly its objective, and activities must directly be based on the competencies that the students must attain.
Since also it is a Biology class, the proper and careful planning must be done. You must think of first what could be the best pedagogical or teaching method to be use. What activities will fit with the given topic that they have.

4. Observation on Teachers
4.1 Planning for Teaching
My cooperating teacher planned a head of time it is evident through the hard copy of her lesson plan that shown to me. In lesson planning she considers all the aspects that must be put into consideration. She thinks of the best way on how the students could attain the competencies reflected on the Core Competencies.
4.2 Preparing Lessons and Materials
The teacher only made use of books, marker, and a model in teaching the students. Just like when I observed her during their topic with the Plant Tissue. She first draw on the board of an example of Plant Tissue and then starts discussing after that she brings out a real plant and then told the students where are the parts of this plant tissues and what are the functions of this tissues.
4.3 Teaching in Class

My cooperating teacher seems to be a great and veteran teacher as she already know what she should do. Every class before starting the lesson she asked for somebody to pray and then after the greetings will be the checking of attendance. After that proceed to formal discussion.
In discussing the teacher made use of the Direct Approach in teaching or traditional way. She often illustrate on the board so that student could easily understand their lesson. Every after presentation of a certain concept she throws questions with her student to assure that they really learned.
In addition to that, whenever she sees that somebody or someone is just talking and not paying attention she will address it properly. And if she noticed that students are becoming sleepy it is now the time for her to throw jokes with the students.
The class typically ends when the topic to be discussed is already over.
4.4 Measurement and Evaluation
The measurement and the evaluation that my cooperating teacher often used is the Recitation and the Objective Type Test. Through the recitation the teacher will be able to know if the students really did understand the lesson. The teacher also incorporate questions that requires higher order thinking skills in order to develop their critical thinking.
The other type is the Objective type which is commonly administered in formative assessment.

5. Teaching Practice
5.1 Procedure of Teaching
I employed learner centered approach in teaching meaning to say I incorporated activities with my formal discussion. Here is what transpired during my demonstration teaching. The first thing that I have done is the prayer followed by the greeting and then classroom management, when we say classroom management it is asking for the students to arrange their chairs and pick up the pieces of papers. After that is the checking of attendance.
Before proceeding to our formal discussion I ask my students to stand up and dance that serves as an energizer and motivation for my students. After that I let them breath for a while and take a rest, then proceed to the discussion of the functions of the muscular system. When we’re already discussing the types of the muscle I gave another activity to my students which is the puzzle making. I gave to them this kind of activity because they already have their prior knowledge regarding the muscle tissues. After the activity I let my student present their works and I am very glad that they have exceeded my expectation and presented their works very well. After that we continue our discussion, while I am discussing I always ask my students of the question that will stimulate their minds so that I could assure that they are listening.
After discussing all the concepts about the muscular system, as a generalization I asked my students about the importance of muscular system after that I asked them if they have some clarifications and they said none. So it’s the time for assessment, as an assessment I gave my students a worksheet to answer.
5.2 Time Management and Organizing Activities
I got some problem when it comes to time management and organizing activities as what have reflected on the evaluation sheet. It’s because in the motivation part I consumed about 10 minutes which must be only 5 minutes. Another is the second activity it really took so long supposedly it must be only good for 15 minutes excluding the presentation part but it consumes almost 25 minutes – it’s because the students find it hard to put the puzzles into correct position.
My reflection about this is that I must first study the activity that I am going to give if it’s too hard or too easy for them.
5.3 Problem Solving
In my discussion I incorporated situational questions where in the students must think of the best answer. Problem solving is an integral part of the discussion as it exposes the students to real life scenarios it also enhances the critical thinking of the students.
5.4 Classroom Management
The overall classroom management is well executed because I was able to follow the plan that I have prepared. You cannot avoid the noisiness of the students that’s why whenever I saw them talking I remind them to please listen because our topic is an important one. During my discussion I also saw students that are feeling so sleepy – so I let them stand and stretch their bodies for a while so that they will not feeling so sleepy.
Maintaining the attention of your students is quite hard the reason why you must always be patient.
6. Summary and Suggestion
6.1 Purpose of Practicum
The purpose of this practicum is to develop the teaching skills and pedagogy of the student teachers through the observation and experience teaching that they may have in the span of the program. Another purpose of this practicum is to enhance the capability of the student’s teachers in speaking the universal language which is the English Language. Third, the program aims to allow the student teacher to be exposed in various culture, and to gain broader perspective that could help them to become a global teacher. Lastly, it aims to develop the social aspects of the teacher as they interact with different kind of people.
The purpose of this kind of program really helps the student teacher to become prepared to the field that she/ he is going to face upon graduating college.
6.2 Procedures of Practicum
The procedures of the Practicum are as follows. The Sea – Teachers are given one month to conduct their pre – service training abroad.
1st Week – Orientation of the Sea – Teachers
Observation Week – where in the student – teachers must attend the class to observe and use the observation to prepare for the following weeks for the demonstration teaching.
2nd Week – Assisting Week – where the students must assist their cooperating teacher in teaching, like making power points and lesson plans.
3rd Week – Demonstration Teaching – where in the student teacher will be the one to discuss while the cooperating teacher is observing her at the back.
4th Week – Reflection – this week is for the compliance of different requirements that they will pass at the end of the program.
6.3 Outcomes of the Practicum
The outcomes of the practicum are very helpful for each of the participants like me. We were able to gain experience and knowledge while enjoying.
It helps me grow personally as I become more confident and independent worker. The program also helps me to grow socially as it enhances my ability to socialize with other people. It also helps me to become a fluent speaker of the English language and lastly. It helps me to become a global teacher that is ready to face the educational challenges.
6.4 The Challenges of Practicum
The major challenge that I encounter during the program is the so called "language barrier" it’s because most of the people could not understand the English language that’s why we find it hard to communicate with them, whenever I want to talk to someone I should use translator so that we could understand each other.
The second problem is termed as "culture shock" the because in the Philippines commonly we have a public transportation that could be easily found, but in Indonesia they use go –jek and go grab. Whenever I order go jek or go – grab they arrived late the reason why I am also late with my class.
6.5 Overall Impression
I am very much honored to be part of the SEA – Teacher program Batch 6 it’s because I gained so much learning that is very useful in my chosen career. It’s like I don’t only grow academically but it helps me to grow socially and morally.
The SEA – Teacher program of SEAMEO is a very great help to become a global teacher. Continue to SOAR HIGH.
